John Snow, Inc. (JSI) and its partners bring together a breadth of experience and unique expertise to ensure the achievement of USAID's goals and objectives in Global Private Sector Program (PSP). The JSI Team brings innovative and effective solutions to complex problems of increasing the use of RH/FP and other health care products and services through commercial strategies. We have experience in expanding the role of private sector in family planning and other health services through industrial workplaces, for-profit health care market places, and NGOs. We increase access of low-income populations to private sector health services through alternative payment mechanisms, linking services with microcredit programs, and forming partnerships between pharmaceutical companies and providers and governments. Using a market segmentation approach we promoted economic and gender equity. JSI has successfully applied a franchising model to establish a network of privately owned clinics and built providers' business management and service-marketing capabilities through tailor-made training and technical assistance. We also introduced private sector management approaches to NGOs to increase their efficiency and cost-effectiveness. Our partners have developed innovations in consumer research and social marketing and enhanced the capacity of host-country organizations to successfully use those. JSI Team partners developed, adapted, transferred, and introduced appropriate health technologies for resource-poor population. Our experience also includes procurement and distribution of health products including contraceptives, HIV test kits and treatment drugs for STI and TB, policy and advocacy, health care reform, and public-private partnerships.
The JSI PSP Team is carefully organized to meet all the technical requirements of this Program:
